Agua Prieta is a border city, located at the Northeast part of the State of Sonora. Agua Prieta started to grow when the construction of the railroad from Douglas, Arizona to the Nacozari mine began.
It has a population of about 70,300 people. Agua Prieta has a stable economy based on manufacturing. There are more than 30 companies, producing various articles including printing, clothing, auto parts (seatbelts) and plastic injection molding.
